Financial audit is an integral component of accounting, involving an inspection of everything related to accounting records and finances at the company. Unlike other types of audit, a financial audit is a source of support and advice for the company. The audit is carried out by an auditor. The auditor may perform the audit in the interests of the company itself, to check the work of its accountants, company financial state and its reports, or on behalf of a certain third party. This is internal audit. Internal audit can be carried out by a hired accounting company or consultant. External audit takes place regardless of the company’s wishes, and without the involvement of parties affiliated with the company. The most common type is the annual report audit, which is carried out by a sworn auditor.
